van den Berg galeria sztuki.
Some doors
never really close.
van den Berg Galeria Sztuki opened in Warsaw in 2012 and became a place where artists, collectors and friends met around new work. After many years, the gallery is returning in a new form: virtual exhibitions that visitors can enter from wherever they are.
Its founder, Adriaan van den Berg, also founded Cloudly Studio. The gallery’s two new virtual spaces are being created with Cloudly Culture.

A Warsaw gallery.
A gathering of people.
Building on roots in South Africa, Adriaan van den Berg opened the gallery at Emilii Plater 12 in Warsaw in 2012. Its programme grew quickly: exhibitions in 2012 and 2013 brought together artists including Lech Bator, Jakub Słomkowski, Filip Kalkowski and Joanna Rusinek, Alicja Domańska and Paweł Miszewski, and Rafał Tarnawski and Daniel del Rossal, alongside an exhibition organised with the Luxembourg Embassy and a solo exhibition of paintings by Riaan van den Berg.
On 5 October 2013, Wojciech Fangor visited the gallery to meet a younger generation of painters. In Joanna Rusinek’s account, he came to talk about art rather than deliver a lecture. In 2014 the gallery showed Michał Misiak in Warsaw and took part in the group exhibition Widnokrąg at Zatoka Sztuki in Sopot.
Those years are now preserved in a living photographic archive, assembled from the gallery’s original albums with photographer credits kept wherever they are known.

- Two virtual spaces in preparation
Two rooms.
Many possibilities.
- The Vitrine: an intimate, focused space for an individual voice, imagined for solo presentations, photography, works on paper and small groups of works in conversation.
- The Foundry: an expansive, exploratory space for group exhibitions, larger works, sculpture and shows that make the space itself part of the experience.
- A living archive of the Warsaw years, with each exhibition’s photographs, artists and history kept together.
The programme for both spaces is still in development. Images of the rooms on galeriaberg.com are AI-enhanced architectural previews based on the actual virtual rooms.
The walls change.
The curiosity stays.
A gallery is made of the encounters that happen inside it. van den Berg Galeria Sztuki built a small but lively community in Warsaw, and its return shows how a gallery can keep that spirit while reaching people far beyond a single address.
For artists, a virtual room means work can be seen in space, at scale and in sequence, by visitors anywhere in the world.
A gallery whose doors
reach further.
Cloudly Culture is creating The Vitrine and The Foundry: spatial design, virtual visits and room to pause, explore and discover art at one’s own pace. The gallery is also where many of our ideas about online exhibitions were first tested with real artists and real audiences in mind.
